Sunday October 17, 2010

We were up early to leave the house at 8:00 am to get downtown to see Jenn finish her first 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles). She has been training since May and was really enthused about finishing it in her target time. The start/finish was in the middle of town across from the State Capitol Building and with 16,000 runners competing, it was quite a busy place. We did finally manage to wiggle our way to the barrier to get some pictures and a video of her finishing. She managed to make her target of 2h 20m which was slightly faster than the winner of the full marathon!

We took the kids to Red Robbin for a celebration lunch before returning Jenn home for the remainder of the day on the couch with ice on her knee.

Chris and I went to Castle Rock for a couple of hours in the afternoon for some factory outlet shopping. This had to be the most beautiful setting for shopping with the Front Range and the Rockies in the background.
