
It is know as the "Island in the Sky" and that it is. It is a massive elevated mesa (several miles across) that provides fantastic views of the surrounding canyons. We happened to encounter a park ranger who was giving an interpretive lecture on the geology of the area that was very interesting.



The hiking here was primarily trails around the rims with stunning overlooks. Chris was getting better at getting close to the edges.


Temperatures today were only in the low 50's but with partly sunny conditions. We had a quick supper and I retreated to the computer to sort through the 300 pictures we had taken in the last two days.
