Friday November 19, 2010

Today's weather forecast looked a bit questionable with some showers forecast for the afternoon. Our first rain in over a month. We decided to head out to Muir Woods on the coast in the morning and perhaps get our tour of the park over before it got wet.

Unfortunately, the drizzle closed in half way there and we realized why the Muir Woods is in a coastal rain forest.

The park features a large grove of redwoods that are up to 1,000 years old. These are big trees as you can see.

We took the coast road home and drove north on Hwy 1 through Stinson Beach where we say our first sea lions relaxing on a sand bar.

We returned to Jim & Sharon's for supper.

John & Janet were on their way home to Orcas Is from San Diego and stopped in Sonoma to visit with us and Jim & Sharon for the weekend. It was great to see them again after several years. It was great getting caught up on everyone's experiences.
