The temperature this morning was 20F but warmed to the low 50's as the sun started to rise. We went for a bit of a walk along the dry creek in Paso Robles. After several phone calls, we found our first winery that was open for a few hours for tasting. We went to Toben James Winery and had a great time sampling about a dozen wines. We met the owner who autographed our purchase.

Our next stop was at Falcon Nest where I think we were the only visitors of the day. A couple of nice reds in a farm setting complete with pet peacocks and a very talkative owner!

The Falcon Nest lady called around and found a couple of other wineries that were open. F/S Winery was in an industrial mall and again we were on our own with a tatooed and body pierced host. Wines were OK.

We figured we had enough wine sampling for the day and decided to do a bit of a back road tour, really interesting countryside and very different colours than Sonoma.

We retreated to the hotel and watched some football then went for supper at a restaurant in the town square. It looked like just about everyone in town was at home enjoying the Thanksgiving Holiday and getting rested up for power shopping on Black Friday.
