We woke up to temperatures in the 20'
sF in South Lake Tahoe. It was sunny and by the time we got organized to get underway, it had started to warm up. Our hotel, it appears, was right on the lake and very beautiful. We had checked in last night after dark and didn't realize exactly where we were. Note the snow covered mountains. They are expecting a couple of few feet of snow this weekend that will open the ski resorts.

We had about a three hour drive from the mountains to
Sonoma. It was very scenic but the road did not provide for may pull off opportunities for photo ops.

We arrived at Jim & Sharon's at around 1:00pm in time for lunch and an outing to look at some of the beautiful
vineyards in
Sonoma valley. The one thing that was really
noticeable was the difference in the colours and contours between
Napa and Niagara.
