Tuesday November 9, 2010

This morning, Chris and I went for a hike in Thunderbird Conservation Park which is about a half mile from Brian & Linda's house.

There are about 15 miles of trails up and down a couple of small peaks. We did a four mile loop which took us to the summit and provided a great view of Little Deer Valley in Glendale.

After our hike, we took the LRT to downtown Phoenix and Tempe. What a great transit system ... free parking at the terminal and ride all day for $3.50! We met one of the transit police who played for the Kitchener Rangers OHL team.

We walked around Tempe and stopped for a small bite to eat and a beer. They have a man made lake in a wash complete with a small marina.

On the way home we stopped for supper at the Wineburger, a great bar with terrific homemade hamburgers.

  1. Whew, love the look of that LRT train.
I am following along almost daily. I don't remember the height of those cactuses from my cross country adventure as a 7 yr. old. Maybe they weren't in the part where we crossed.
